Stack Computer Solutions

Stack can provide Telephony Solutions using VOIP technologies

Why Voice Over IP?

Voice over IP (VoIP) brings telephony into the 21st Century. It makes use of the spare capacity in your data network and the Internet so reducing installation, maintenance and call costs as well as bringing great new features.

VOIP phone systems can accept all the same incoming/outgoing calls as traditional systems so there is no need to change the way your business connects to the outside world but leveraging the power of the Internet reveals the true magic of VoIP.

At the heart of the system is a software based telephone switch (the media manager)which connects to your digital phone lines and to your network. This software provides all of the features that a conventional telephone switch would but has the added benefit of incorporating those features usually expensive add-ons to traditional systems.

Because the handsets sit on the existing computer network and have built in pass-through connections they can sit between the existing data outlet and the PC with no additional cabling required. This effectively halves cabling costs. No extra data ports on hubs or switches are needed for the handsets either.

Because the Media Manager sits on your network it can communicate via the Internet (like Skype) to make and recieve low cost calls or even free ones. Media Manager can follow rules about which call destination is reached by which route. It can also follow rules such as "If a particular sales extension is not answered within 3 rings then ring all sales extensions and if none answer in 3 more rings then ring all admin extensions"

Because the Media Manager intelligently determines the origin of inbound calls it can route them to the proper recipient and at the same time trigger that recipients PC to display the appropriate information about the caller to better serve the caller.

Media Managers at different locations in your organisation can be linked together to form a single large multi-site telephony solution which has been designed to allow the placement of the most appropriate systems at each location and unlike a hosted solution each site can work independently of the others for maximum flexibility and reliability.

Phones & Gateways

Phones

There are many different handsets available to buy and each manufacturer has different features / specifications for you to choose (see right ==>). One common theme however is that they are all industry standard and have been approved and tested to work with the IC-Talk system.

Whilst the handsets are exceptionally feature rich this traditionally meant that they would be very hard to configure. That was until they came to IC-Talk, now you get a phone, unpack it, plug it in and it will come to our provisioning systems and get the software and settings to work correctly with our systems - leaving you with very little to set-up.

Furthermore during the life of any phones supplied the phones will check-in with us daily to ensure they are kept up to date and optimally configured to run with the IC-Talk system.

Gateways

The world has not completely changed overnight and you will still want to make and receive calls from your traditional phone lines therefore we have some cards and adaptors available to convert these lines into VoIP.

These devices are how you link your legacy telephone lines into the new system. We can take lines in from most of the telecommunications operators in the UK and support standard POTS lines, ISDN2 and ISDN30 circuits to give you the most flexibility.
