Thin Print

Thin Print

Connection based bandwidth control, professional printer mapping, port pooling for printer load balancing, and support for Windows Cluster Services are just a few of the features that make .print Application Server Engine the leader in technology for printing from terminal servers.

The DRIVER FREE PRINTING technology in .print Application Server Engine for example, makes server-side installation of printer drivers unnecessary while at the same time avoiding the disadvantages of a “universal” printer driver. This .print technology is complemented by a high-performance, adaptive compression, with which the individual components of a document are analyzed and compressed with the respectively best algorithm before being transmitted.

In combination with a dedicated print server, .print Application Server Engine puts the print data into the ICA or RDP virtual channel and send it directly to the client. This allows to target printers that are hiding behind a firewall or a Network Address Translation (NAT) and therefore can not be reached over TCP/IP.

The development focus of Version 7.6 was for a noticeable increase of the transfer rate. Now the lead time for printing can thus be reduced again: ThinPrint prints up to five times faster. The new version is also laying the foundation for an even wider range of applications of the .print technology in distributed network environments. Print management can thus be perfected with the new version even outside of classic SBC or Terminal Services environments, such as in the areas of client/server, web, or mobile applications. It can also be used for generally optimizing print job processing over WAN connections

  • Print five times faster thanks to Adaptive Speed
  • Extended platform support and integration
  • Driver Free Native Printing
  • .print AutoConnect: Variables
  • Two license models: server- and user-based licensing
  • Central license management: License manager in the MMC

Are you running a 64-bit terminal server or planning to do so? Then you need the 64-bit version of the .print Application Server Engine. The 64-bit version enables all of the advantages of the .print technology for your 64-bit environment. Because this version also ensures the use of your 32-bit printers, it minimizes the hardware investment of migration to the new Windows platform
